New Blog!

As we progress on various and assorted trips, I like to write about what we’re doing and seeing - throwing in a bit of history and culture where possible to make it a little more interesting. Please join us as we see the world.

When we started this blog, we really thought it would be for us, so that we could look back in our dotage and remember where we’d been and what we’d done. But it seems that lots of folks like reading about our adventures (more likely, they like reading about our misadventures), so here it is, in all its glory. I hope you enjoy it.

August 2022

For a couple technical reasons, I moved the blog from a Word Press site to a Jekyll site. Makes no difference to you, but it gives me a lot more flexibility in making the blog look and behave as I want it to. Now, as I publish the new blog, you will see it’s formatted differently. I like to keep the main page and posts as clean as possible: I’m a fan of white space. So where before you could just scroll down the home page and see the entire post for the four or five most recent posts, now you’ll see a page that shows the first 100 words or so of the first posts. Click on the title or the line that reads (Full post…) to go to the full post. Lemme know what you think; I can change it back to the old way if enough people ask.

History of Posts

Also, you can click on “Post Timeline” and see all the post titles arranged by date, most recent at the top. Click on the blog title to see the full post. Some of the older posts - 2013 and 2015 - will be missing images. I’m working on it.

Post Categories

All posts have one or more categories. Click on “Categories” to see a list of the categories. On that page, click on a Category to see all the posts in that category, and then click on a post title to see the full post.

Missing Pictures

Yeah, yeah, I know there are some pictures missing. I’ll find them Real Soon Now.

Comments

Sorry, no easy way to enter a comment on the post itself. Send me an email and I’ll find a way to add it to the post. If you use the “Send me a comment…” link at the bottom of a post, it will open up your email app with an email that uses the post title as the Subject and my email address in the To: field.
